Saddlestitched jobs always have page counts in multiples of 4, and if the outside (cover) sheet is the same stock as the text it's known as a self-cover job. The saddlestitch format allows a designer to run pictures and panels across the gutter (the area between left and right pages) for dramatic displays of pictures and illustrations.
